When I say posting weekly, I guess I really mean at least every month... so thats a success since here I am posting and its still February ;) ha well like always life gets busy and time gets short... Like the dear poet Robert Frost said,
"In 3 words I can sum up everything I know about life: it goes on."
I was last jet setting to Utah to spend a few quick days doing some intense family time and to welcome my baby brother Mckay home from his 2 year service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka Mormons. He was in the Independence, Mo area and grew mentally, physically, and spiritually. It was a blessing for me and my family to see him come home safely; he is a great kid with determination and an amazing heart.
Waiting at SLC airport for his arrival...

First meal back took us to Cafe Rio,
a favorite place to eat in Utah :)

Big boy walking up to us, looking hesitant but excited

Saturday we spent with family bummin'
and chillin'... check out Duke, my brother Jake's
great mastiff, just 1 yr old! The bottom pic is of Pops Dave
and Mckay snowball fighting... boys will be boys

I spent the weekend with the family joking around and doing lots of eating... the eating for me was different because of the whole30 I was still in the process of, so Super Bowl #beyoncerocksmyworld and birthday cake were not as gratifying as usual but I didn't suffer :)
Night out at dinner.... poor other diners

The many faces of Evans beauty

Super Bowl #beyonce #49ers, Ma turning
59 and Taygen turns 12

They call me Papa Papa-razzi lol

I only got to see 2 of my friends while there, it was such a boost for my heart to see Mike and Jen, however I am still in trouble with a few people for not meeting up with them while out there... so to them, deepest apologies!!

The next weekend I was back in Boston, on call, and facing my first blizzard!!! I have known snow all my life since I am from Utah, however I have never seen such a large dumping of snow over night...
Morning after, went out to find my
car buried alive...

the snow and wind was something I have never seen before, it was absolutely crazy to see. It was so beautiful and strangely made everyone much nicer. When some of the snow started to clear from the side walks and walking was a option, it was cool to see the rest of the people come out and enjoy the snow and help shovel cars out and just be overall friendly to each other. The East coast is not known for friendliness so it was great for a person like myself who is too friendly at times see other people being service-ful and kind. By 4pm Saturday I had cabin fever and made the trek to the gym.... yeah Boston Sports Club was open... and worked off some of my cobwebs I had acquired sitting inside all day long ;) On Sunday I had to go out and see some patients however my car was under 2 ft of snow with the snow drifts, my friend Jake from the gym offered to help dig my car out then took a second thought about it and said he would just drive me around all day. I was completely objective to this because I didn't want to waste his whole day making him drive and I am not good at accepting help.... however after his convincing (which was him refusing to help dig my car out) I accepted his help and we had a fun day of driving to see the patients that needed help and sadly do a death pronouncement. Overall the blizzard was an experience, we still have mounds of snow that are blocking driving lanes on the roads, parking is a even bigger mess than before, but its given me a full New England experience to be here for this winter and makes me look forward to spring more than I have in years and years...........

I don't like to measure my time in weeks because the weeks are usually pretty subpar without much excitement, however I do have one bit of good news that happened 2 weeks ago... I have a new friend here who had to move back out west and so her room opened up in her house so I am going to be moving to Cambridge this week to live with 3 other girls, and best of all have heat!!!!! ha ha ha
Valentines week was better than I had planned, I was taken out by Jake to a nice fancy dinner and given 24 long stem roses (they are still preserved in my room since its so cold in here all the time lol) He also took me to a Celtics vs Bulls game, even though I am a Jazz girl through and through, when in Rome, I can appreciate the home team, so it was nice to see them beat the Bulls by just 1 point!!
Do you think leaving the wipers up on
this car benefited them much?? ha
Top pic is of:
Ari, Jake, and I at the Celtics game
Flowers for Valentines from Jake and Dave

That week I also received sweet cards from Justin, Melissa, and Shara telling me they love me from afar ;) And of course David Taylor pulled through with a dozen roses.... duck tape style ha ha so creative! But the best part of the week was that Amanda and Bailey made the trip up here on Valentines night to be with me. They knew I have been having a rough time with love and didn't want me to be lonely so she made a point to get up here to be with me, it was fantastic! The next day she was followed by Taylor and Thaidra, 2 other girls that came up from DC to visit!
Made the girls brunch, my bed turned
from a double to a California king bed
for the weekend... checkout Bailey owning
the bed

Heading into town to enjoy Boston,
Taylors first time here!

We relaxed, walked the Freedom Trail and ate lots of heavy Italian food in the North End #cannollis
No words..... #fantasticfood

Shara then came in to town on Sunday morning, we headed straight to church then grabbed brunch afterwards. We then headed into Boston to do a little shopping around, we had plans to go to Salem but the weather was pretty bad again so we hung in the city and enjoyed Boston.
Along the Freedom Trail, Old South Church
*I think

literally FREEZING to death, check the guy
running in the background, it was miserable
but my girls handled it like champs :)

Taylor works for Marriott so we got a awesome room right in the theater district and had a fantastic girls night!! :) Monday we went and got more cannollis and then eventually took the girls to the airport in the evening.
North End rocked our socks

Down at the Harbor (haa -ar ahh bour)

Once again having a girls weekend was just what the Dr ordered, it was a blast to laugh at dumb things and be with my girls again for a weekend #soulhealing
Outside the North meeting Hall

Me, Taylor, Amanda, Thaidra, and Shara waiting
for the T, trying to warm up again

Work seems to never be slow for me which is good, however trying to plan a move and keep a social life going is a full time job. Work did get pretty busy this past week, I sadly had 2 patients pass away. It's expected, however its never easy for me. One little lady had been my patient for about a month, she was a sweet lady that only spoke Cantonese so we used the interpreter service on the phone. Her husband was just as sweet and so devoted to her, he has dementia and so her passing was especially hard to explain and help him to understand :( Some days my job is really tough, some days it doesn't seem like work at all. The comforting part of it seems like I don't do any work, however at the end of the day when the pt is medicated and cared for, a large part of my job is taking care of the loved ones, they are often the ones that need us more than the patients.
This weekend started out with Jake helping me move 75% of my things to my new house in Cambridge, he is soooo nice because there are lots of flights of stairs to my new house lol Saturday was a day for KJ where I went to my new Drs and had a yearly exam, painted my nails, and relaxed... it was beautiful ;) ha Today at church was uplifting and good for my heart. The main takeaway from classes was to do service and forgiveness so we can have open and happy hearts, easy enough for me ;) I am going to make a dinner tonight, Pot roast mmmmmmmmmmm
