Puerto Rico!

My final week we took a trip on American Ferries and ended up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was quite an adventure getting us there, they didn't want to give us a free pass to get on the boat (as DREAM volunteers Hannah Maria and JT had papers that made them exempt from paying tourist fees to get out of the country) and we were delayed for an hour and a half ... just so happened that it was perfect because our two German/Polish girls Alesandra and Magda were coming to meet us, but we had no way to communicate with them. As we were the last people waiting to board the ferry, JT said "hey there they are" and sure enough here came our two girls prancing past security, we were sooooooooo happy and surprised to see them!!! All thanks to the dumb security we delayed the boat long enough for the girls to make it to the ferry... everything happens for a reason ;)

Our week in Old San Juan was a week of complete fun and absolute enchantment....... Seriously if you have any desire to go somewhere somewhat affordable and technically in the country then GO TO OLD SAN JUAN!!! It is such a dream come true. It is old but updated. Classy and colorful. Historic and happening. It has people who speak clear English and Spanish. The streets are made of bricks and cobble stone... Seriously I loved it! We spent most our days wandering, appreciating, shopping, taking photos, and going out at night. JT and I would wake up and do a nice run around to new areas each day and finish off with a cool down in the fountain with the children. Empanadas freshly baked each morning with a fresh fruit smoothie to boot. We had Puerto Rican food that was awesome. Found a Vegetarian restaurant that hit just the right spots. Met some fun people. Shared lots of laughter. Had some tearful moments. Relaxed. Spent our time appreciating the moments we had with one another before we had to say our goodbyes....

Soooo lost.... Hannah, Magda, Maria, and Marcos
